This is Hannah's second year playing trumpet in the school band. In Richmond Hill (Georgia), the school district started band in 6th grade, but up here band can begin as early as 4th grade. When we enrolled Hannah in school here we expected her to go into the 2nd year band, but it would not fit into her schedule. The band director gave her a chance to basically skip a year and join the Concert Band, which consists of those who have been playing for 3 or 4 years. Hannah was worried that she would not be able to keep up, but she has done an absolutely amazing job in not only keeping up with those who have been playing longer, but she actually passed at least one of her peers! Hannah is 3rd chair in concert band this year. We are really proud of her and all the hard work that she has put forth!
