A little background first:
My parents live out east of Greeley, Colorado, on about 4 acres of land. They are always outside - planting, weeding, hunting gophers, watering trees, burning sagebrush ... you get the idea. When we go to "Jackrabbit Flats" to visit, the kids are always great helpers, mainly because they get "popsicle breaks." As we are trying to get the kids more "outdoorsy," we decided to extend the popsicle break tradition into the Coastal Empire. It ended up that the kids were sitting in lawnchairs watching me mow the lawn. Hmmmm. I thought that would turn out differently... (They did do quite a bit of work before the popsicles, though.)

Would you really want the kids helping you mow the lawn with a riding mower? I imagine any and all of the kids would like the chance to drive it!
