In the house!

The last update was about a week ago... on Monday morning we got the call we were waiting for - our paperwork had returned from the VA, and we are all set to move in. We signed the remainder of our early occupancy agreement (we can't close the mortgage until our house in Georgia rents), and received our keys on Tuesday. Finally! We are out of the hotel, where we had kids racked out on air mattresses all over the place. We spent pretty much all day checking out of the hotel (six people need a lot of stuff to live) and moving into our new house. Wednesday we got a call from some friends, who had a family emergency down in the Lower 48. Seeing how airline tickets are mucho expensivo (about the extent of my psuedo-spanish), they couldn't afford to take their two kids with them, and requested that we tend their muchkins and two psycho dogs while they are gone. We are staying over at their house to facilitate the logistics of this insanity.
We also had an issue with the wiring for the well at the new house. Long story short, we had to hang out and wait for the technician to come over and fix it pretty much all day long. It did get fixed though, and I shadowed the tech around until I have a pretty good idea how to fix some of the problems that may arise. Short of dropping wiring down the well.
Yesterday the movers came over and dropped about 1.7 million boxes (all stuffed with more paper than household goods) off all over the house. We spent pretty much all day today doing two things - keeping the kids from killing each other and unpacking the kitchen.
Two interesting things occured though, a moose wandered into our backyard. Yeah. Into our yard. The grass part. Later we had a very large fox come through. I think we are living in Wild Kingdom...
