Trevor finished up his third season playing 'knee-kicker' soccer at the Richmond Hill Recreation League. He was on the Green Waves team, where their motto was "Green Waves Have Fun!" This was the second year that their coach had the same core group of kids, he was very patient with the kids, and really seemed to enjoy teaching them how to play his game. One of the things that cracked me up was the way he taught the kids not to touch the soccer ball with their hands. Whenever they picked up the ball, or touched it with their hands, the coach told them to "blow 'em out! Blow 'em out! Your hands are on fire!" Sure enough, the kids would blow out the imaginary fire on their hands or arms, and learned pretty quickly not to use hands on the ball.
It was a lot of fun to watch the kids go from a pack mentality (everybody clustered around the ball) to a team mentality, where they would spread out and actually pass the ball to each other.
Congratulations, Trevor!

Trevor can practice his mad soccer skills with me in a view days...he will feel like David Beckham since he probably has more coordination than I do...
