Last night, Oma Katie (Christi's mom) flew up from Sequim, Washington with the scalawags! Christi and I have really missed our wonderful little clones - we have been by ourselves nearly an entire month. I'm sure those of you with kids are thinking: "An entire month without kids? Cry me a %$#**& river!" Well, sitting behind families with carpet commandos at church, talking with the mini-me's on the phone, and seeing tricycle motors at play as we drive past various parks on post underscore the fact that our children were about twenty-three hundred miles away (by road - it is about a five-hour flight).
The drive up here was great without kids - kind of like a second honeymoon (with the addition of a psycho dog). The first week started to get ... well, not exactly lonely, but we definately missed our munchins. It got worse from there.
As of now we are in two hotel rooms, but this is the last day that there is an extra room at the hotel, and no other hotels have two available rooms for a decent price. Apparantly Fairbanks in the summertime is quite the place to be. Sooooo, tomorrow afternoon we will have three adults, one pre-teen, and three younger kids in one hotel room. Hopefully the rest of the paperwork for our new home will be ready in the next couple of days so we can all have a little elbow room!

At least it's summer time and you can spend a lot of time during the day outside. Can you imagine being there in the winter and not being able to spend much time outside? The cramped space would really be bad then. Enjoy!
