We are trying to do some of the traditional activities this Christmas, along with taking part in the festivities that living in North Pole offers. After getting the recipe for the superglue frosting, we braved the Wal-Mart crowds to pick up the necessary supplies to create gingerbread (actually constructed from graham crackers, but gingerbread sounds better) houses. The only hitch was that Wally-world was entirely out of powdered sugar. That's a first for me. So, we had to go to ANOTHER store and fight more parking and more crowds at the registers. Of course, living in the Fairbanks Metro Area, crowded is all relative (slightly smaller population than Greeley).
After the shopping ... entertainment ... we got down to the decorating, and kept at it until well after the kids should have been in bed. I am sure that the sugar crash will help them sleep in tomorrow!
(Here's hoping...)
